Aholiday which is celebrated in many english speaking countries on the 31 of october is called halloween. on this night people wear scary costumes, they often dress up as witches, ghosts, goblins. children go from house to house ‘threatening’ ‘trick or treat’. in this traditional way they ask for sweets and the house’s owners give them treats with pleasure. if the owners don’t give candies, children can play tricks. for example, throw eggs at windows or put toilet paper in trees. everyone understands that this is just for making fun. the holiday of halloween begins on pagan holiday samhain which is also known as day of the dead or all saints. this is a happy and joyful holiday even though people celebrate death. it is believed that on this night the souls of dead people are believed to return back to earth. some people say that on the night of 31 october the gap between the dead and the living world is closer, that is why the souls of dead return back to earth. these souls are believed to look for a living creature for possessing during the next year. those people who don’t want to be possessed by dead souls should leave drinks and foods to please these souls outside their doors. first beggars begin taking these food and drinks, and then they began begging for it and over time children started to. as for the dressing up, there’s another tradition. people dressed up as a scary things and ghost so the souls of the dead thought they were dead, too and to scary them away. halloween is a favorite holiday of the most children in english speaking countries.перевод праздник, который во многих странах отмечается 31 октября, называется хэллоуином. в эту ночь люди надевают страшные костюмы, часто они переодеваются в ведьм, и гоблинов. дети ходят от дома к дому с шутливой угрозой «жизнь или кошелек». таким традиционным способом они требуют сладости, а хозяева домов с удовольствием их им с удовольствием. если хозяева не сладости, дети на хэллоуин могут разыграть их. например, бросать яйца в окна или развесить туалетную бумагу на деревьях. но все понимают, что делается это исключительно для веселья. праздник хэллоуина берет свое начало от языческого праздника самайна (самхейна), который также известен как день мертвых или день всех святых. хэллоуин — веселый и радостный праздник, несмотря на то, что люди празднуют смерть. считается, что в эту ночь души умерших людей возвращаются на землю. некоторые люди говорят, что в ночь на хэллоуин грань между миром мертвых и миром живых становится тоньше, именно поэтому души возвращаются на землю. считается, что эти души ищут живых существ, чтобы вселиться в них на следующий год. те люди, которые не хотят, чтобы в них вселялись, должны оставить напитки и еду у своих дверей, чтобы задобрить души. сначала нищие забирали эту еду и напитки, после они просили милостыню, а затем этот обычай в шутливой форме переняли дети. что касается переодевания, то здесь также имеет место древняя традиция. люди одевались в костюмы нечистой силы и , чтобы умершие души подумали, что они также мертвы, и таким образом отпугивали их. хэллоуин — это самый любимый праздник детей и детей в странах.
