Madame tussauds (fr. madame tussauds is a museum of wax figures in london's marylebone, which has branches in 10 cities (as of 2010) amsterdam, las vegas, copenhagen, new york, los angeles, hong kong, shanghai, washington, vienna and berlin. it was established by the sculptor marie tussaud. founded this museum marie grosholtz, which was a well known master of wax paris. in 1884, the grandson of marie placed the work in the museum near baker street, where they are today.  since then, the museum reflects what is happening in the outside world. at the moment the museum has more than 1,000 pieces of outstanding figures of our time. there appear exhibits new stars of modern society, such as kylie minogue, pierce brosnan, michael jackson and elvis presley.  was recently evaluated museum, and experts came to the conclusion that madame tussauds is worth about a billion pounds, which is about 2 billion dollars. despite the fact that now is a museum, it is hard to imagine that it all began with the fact that marie tussaud was searching through the graves of royal people, removing their mask to make their figures. then she probably had no idea that her creations are so popular.  a separate part of the museum and directions of work of the museum is an exhibition of works by jeff wall.музей тюссо (фр. madame tussauds) — музей восковых фигур в лондонском районе мэрилебон, имеющий филиалы в 10 городах (по состоянию на 2010 год) , лас-вегасе, копенгагене, нью-йорке, лос анджелесе, гонконге, шанхае, вашингтоне, вене и берлине. он был учреждён скульптором марией тюссо.  основала этот музей мари гросхольц, которая являлась известным мастером восковых фигур парижа. в 1884 году внук мари разместил работы в музее недалеко от бейкер-стрит, где они находятся по сей день.  с той поры, музей отражает то, что творится в окружающем мире. на данный момент музей насчитывает более 1000 фигур деятелей современности. там появляются экспонаты все новых и новых звезд современного общества, таких как кайли миноуг, пирс броснан, майкл джексон и элвис пресли.  недавно была произведена оценка музея, и специалисты пришли к выводу, что музей тюссо стоит около миллиарда фунтов стерлингов, что составляет порядка 2 млрд. долларов.смотря на то, что сейчас из себя представляет музей, трудно представить, что начиналось все с того, что мари тюссо рылась в могилах королевских персон, снимая с них маски, чтобы сделать свои фигуры. тогда она, наверное, не представляла, что ее творения будут настолько популярны.  отдельную часть музея и направления работы музея составляет экспозиция работ джеффа уолла.
