1/ the british isles include  one large island that is called  great britain, the north part of  ireland island, and more than six thousand small  isles.  2/ the british isles are in the north-western coast of continental europe. 3/ there are two states in the british isles:   the uk  (england, scotland, wales and nortern ireland), and the irish  republic.
