Tuesday:

Today was another long day on Elephant Island. We woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore, and the wind howling outside our makeshift shelter. We spent the morning trying to stay warm and dry, which is no easy feat in this weather. We melted snow for water, and had a meager breakfast of biscuits and canned food.

In the afternoon, we ventured out to explore the island a bit more. It's a barren, desolate place, but there's something beautiful about it too. The snow-covered mountains in the distance are breathtaking. We also managed to find some moss and lichen, which we used to supplement our diet.

Wednesday:

Today was a bit more eventful than yesterday. We woke up to find that one of our crew members had fallen ill. We think it's pneumonia, which is a real concern given our limited resources and the harsh conditions we're living in. We did what we could to make him comfortable, but we're all worried about his condition.

In the afternoon, we heard the sound of a ship's horn in the distance. We all rushed outside, hoping against hope that it was a rescue mission. But it turned out to be a false alarm - just our minds playing tricks on us. We were all a bit deflated after that.

Thursday:

Today was a mixed bag. On the one hand, the sick crew member seems to be doing a bit better. He's still weak, but his fever has gone down a bit, which is a relief. On the other hand, the weather has taken a turn for the worse. The wind is howling even more fiercely than before, and we're worried that our shelter won't hold up much longer.

We spent most of the day reinforcing our shelter and trying to stay warm. We also did what we could to lift each other's spirits. We told stories, played cards, and tried to laugh as much as possible. It's times like these when we really need to lean on each other for support.

That's it for now. I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring, but I'm hopeful that things will start to look up soon
