00:41At his house in Boston.

00:43Do you know if you'll be visiting

00:45any other cities during your stay?

00:47We'll probably be traveling around a bit.

00:49I'd like to see New York. Okay. Thank you, Mr. Wilson.

00:53Enjoy your stay.

00:56One Tony.

00:59We live in London, but we have family in

01:01Devon, which is in the southwest of England.

01:04Devon is really beautiful, with lots

01:06of lovely countryside and beaches.

01:09My aunt and uncle have lived in an old farmhouse

01:11there for over ten years now, and every summer we

01:14go and stay with them for a few weeks.

01:17Being in London in summer is not very pleasant, so

01:20my sister and I really look forward to going there.

01:23There are lots of things to do, and

01:25we get on really well with our cousins.

01:27We cycle to the beach or go for walks,

01:30and sometimes we go out in my uncle's boat.

01:33There's a surfing beach nearby, so

01:36we've been practicing our surfing.

01:38I'm not very good, but it's great fun.

01:41I wouldn't like to live there in winter, though.

01:44It's too boring then.

01:47Two Karen my mum used to live in Portugal, so we

01:53often go there for our holidays, just the two of us.

01:56We never stay in the same place.

01:58We always hire a car and drive to different places.

02:02We visit Lisbon, the capital city, for example, or

02:06visit my mum's friends on the west coast.

02:09Now and then we cross over the border

02:11and go to the south of Spain.

02:14Once we went to Gibraltar, that tiny

02:16part of Spain which is still British.

02:19That was interesting, though.

02:21I wouldn't like to live there.

02:23Portugal is lovely, though, and the

02:25people are very friendly and kind.

02:27My mum speaks Portuguese fluently, of course, and

02:31I can speak a bit too, though it's

02:33not an easy language to pronounce.

02:36And it's always warm and sunny.

02:38There such a nice place for a holiday.

02:42Three Dan and Jill.

02:46We both have quite busy jobs,

02:48so holidays are important to us.

02:50We like to get away from it

02:52all and do something completely different.

02:54We save some of our money every month

02:56and put it away for our next holiday.

02:59We've recently found something we love doing skiing.

03:03We tried it for the first time two

03:05years ago and thought it was wonderful.

03:07Yes, I didn't think I would enjoy it

03:09that much, as I don't like the cold.

03:12But on a beautiful white mountain with a blue

03:15sunny sky, it doesn't feel cold at all.

03:19Skiing's expensive, though, so we try to

03:22arrange something at the last minute so

03:24we can get the holiday cheaper.

03:26So far we've been to Austria.

03:28This year I think we're going to Switzerland.

03:31We can't wait.

03:34Four chris I'm 17 now and I used to

03:39go on holiday with my parents and little sisters,

03:42but I never enjoyed it very much.

03:45Wherever we went, either in Britain or sometimes

03:48France or Italy, my dad would have to

03:51look at all the churches and historical buildings.

03:55The occasional old place can be interesting, I

03:58suppose, but I used to get so bored.

04:01My mum would take my little sisters to a

04:03cafe for yet another ice cream, and there was

04:06I stuck between old churches and pink ice creams.

04:10So last year, I decided to do something different.

04:14Now, when my family goes on holiday, I

04:17go somewhere on my own in the U. K.

04:20So far I've been canoeing and kayaking, mountain

04:24climbing and camping, and it's been just great.

04:28There are lots of people my age, and we all learn something

04:31new and get to know each other at the same time.

04:34I've done so many new things and met so many people.

04:38I wish I'd thought of it sooner.
