At last it was time to begin my long journey. I got 1) my bike and said goodbye to my friends. Leaving them 2) I pushed my bike 3) the ferry which would take me 4) the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I was starting my 16,000 kilometre cycle ride around Australia. First, I cycled mainly 5) the coast road. Then, I followed the Caprician Highway 6) Longreach. The road 7) to the top of the mountain was difficult, but the view was beautiful. Then I went 8) the other side of the mountain at top speed and soon I was in the outback, cycling 9) hundreds of kilometres of dried grass. Everyone I met on the journey was very kind to me. Some people even gave me comfortable beds to sleep 10) I was glad they were so generous because I had a long way to go!
