A) Each year, both kids and adults in the US spend more time glued to the TV- set than doing anything else, except for sleeping
People have worried about the effects of TV because it leads to such problems as bad eating habits, lack of exercise, obesity and depression .
More than one in eight American kids today is overweight. Sitting in front of the tube for long hours is one reason. The steady stream of commercials advertising sugary soda, chocolate and fast food is another.

B) Lots of people admit that the quality of television could be better. They would prefer to see fewer soap operas and crime series, and more history, drama and science. One reason for the poor quality is that the TV companies make most of their money by selling advertising. Advertisers pay more money for time during popular shows, especially in the evenings when the audiences are biggest.

C) Not long ago , a new study published in the journal Science gave fresh evidence of connection between TV watching and violence. Psychologist Jeffrey G. Johnson and his research team followed children in 707 families for 17 years . The researchers found that kids who watched more than one hour of TV a day were more likely than other kids to take part in aggressive and violent behaviour as they grew older.

D) The” beautiful people” syndrome is what happens when you watch too much TV. After watching hours and hours of beautiful, skinny and wealthy people on TV, you realize that your life is not as wonderful as it should be.

E) Television is the electronic transmission of moving images with accompanying sound, sent from a central source or sources to home television screens. Television images can be relayed from one point to another by several transmission systems. One of them uses electromagnetic radiation, or waves, that are sent over the air. Another is cable television using a community antenna or a receiving dish and distributing the signals by cable to subscribes.

There are many problems in our world, different countries and organizations. but there is a problem that's disturbing all the world. our planet is full of industrial factories and plants. millions of cars are emitting some harmful substances into the air. such substances make people and animal suffer from polluted air. our industry is a cause of global warming and we can't stop it right now due to lack of technology development. however, all is not so bad. we have thousands of organizations and even corporations that are trying to popularize alternative energy sources. and their work is noticeable. electric automobiles are becoming more and more popular. plants and factories are using modern technologies to reduce emissions. somebody could say "hey, you're too optimistic and we all are going to the abyss." but i'm not an optimist, i just see all the improvements last years that are believed to change the situation all over the world. you and i have only to help in this by promoting new harmless technologies. maybe they aren't too profitable right now, but someday they will replace old and harmful one. i believe that our future world will not be a big trash. it will be a pretty place with beautiful nature and complementary synthesis of nature and technology.
