Is September 1, 1939 really the start date of World War II? Maybe the war began with the invasion of the Soviet troops in the Baltics? Or the occupation of France in the summer of 1940? Or June 22, 1941? And what role did the Soviet-German non-aggression pact play in all this? The organizers of the discussion from Poland and Germany did not confine themselves to the framework of school textbooks, but formulated the questions in such a way as to provoke a discussion. And in the first round of questions, the guests did not agree. Half of the participants in the discussion, referring to public opinion in the countries they represent, called the beginning of World War II not on September 1, 1939, but on June 22, 1941.
