Alfred nobel was born on october 21, 1833 in stockholm , sweden, in a family of engineers .   he was a chemist , engineer and inventor . in 1894 nobel purchased metallurgical concern bofors , which he had made the largest arms manufacturer . during his life, nobel amassed an impressive fortune. most of the income he received from his 355 inventions , of which the most famous - dynamite   . in 1888, alfred nobel " buried alive" . in russia, ludwig nobel 's brother died , and mistakenly placed newspaper reporters announcement of the death of alfred nobel himself , and not his brother. reading in the french newspaper obituary own called " merchant of death is dead ," nobel pondered how it will remember the humanity . after that, he decided to change his will .   december 10, 1896 alfred nobel died in his villa in san remo , italy, from a brain hemorrhage .
