The Larmer Tree Festival is a music festival that has taken place every July for the last 20 years. But it has never grown in size so there are only 4,000 tickets available.
The festival is named after an old tree that originally grew in the gardens of the estate which
opened to the public in 1880 as a plaoe where people could go for rest and entertainment.
There are lots of bands every day, starting at lunchtime and going through until after midnight so
festival goers can spend their time listening to music from all over the world. But if they don't want to
do that, there are plenty of quiet places to sit and eat or chat with friends
As well as music, there are also activities for children. It's a very popular place for them, because it's
a family festival. There are lots of workshops for them to go to that teach them how to make
interesting sculptures and paintings.
You can go to the festival just for one day but most people want to stay for the whole time and they
uSually camp. There is a large campsite next to the Larmer Tree gardens and there is a shop where
you can buy food to cook. There really is something for everyone.
