spaniards prefer to celebrate new year's noisy and fun, this night they rush on the city square. the main stage of the new year is the puerta del sol in madrid. when the clock begins to strike midnight, the spanish frantically shoving grapes in the mouth. in spain there is a belief that while sounding chimes-you have to eat 12 grapes and make a wish. who has time to do it in the new year will find a lot of happiness. new year's eve spaniards have fun until the morning. they sing, dance, congratulate each other on the holiday and give gifts. new year's eve spanish lit fireworks explode firecrackers, thunder crackers, sprinkle each other with streamers and confetti. drink spaniards prefer a traditional drink - champagne cava. in the morning the spaniards go to cafes and restaurants to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with fresh donuts. in the new year to the spanish kids comes papa noel (spanish santa claus) , he comes alone, without assistants and puts it on the balcony gifts and sweets. after the new year to the spaniards come the kings-wizards melchior, gaspar and baltasar. they are riding on camels and fulfill wishes. kings-wizards symbolize the magi bringing gifts to the newborn jesus. wizards come to obedient children, and leave the gift in a children's shoe. naughty gets only a piece of coal.
