Newt Salamander is a mysterious young man, and as we later find out a magical zoologist, he comes to New York from London. In the courtyard are the dashing 20s: the days of Gatsby have not yet arrived, but the Underground Empire reigns so everyone walks in black and gray, the Ministry of Magic at its very dawn, therefore, forbids everything that can be forbidden, but in the meantime anti-magic moods are growing in the streets, the main participants of which, oddly enough, are children.

But the Salamander doesn’t care at all, he came to New York to get a new beast for his collection, and was about to leave right there, but it wasn’t there.

A beautiful modified screensaver from Warner Brothers, bewitching fog, a dark screen and the same treasured music, the feeling of that same magical fairy tale is overwhelming ...

The Harry Potter films are arranged in a completely unique way, the plot consists not only of the main part of the story (the story of the philosopher’s stone, the mystery of the secret room, the escaped murderer from azkaban, etc.), but also from a parallel plot line, namely, the interweaving of so many fates wizards, a terribly dark evil that is not fully understood by the youngest fans of the franchise.

“Fantastic critters” managed to keep this amazing way, the film was surprisingly old enough. In addition to the plot about beautiful magical animals, the most terrible dark evil reigns in the world of wizards, as well as the Ministry of Magic, whose role so skillfully fits into films about the Hogwarts universe

And it would seem that the film is already full of all kinds of effects, witty (and sometimes vulgar) jokes, brilliant cast, including, of course, Eddie Redmayne, twice Oscar nominee and winner, beautiful Catherine Waterston, now popular Ezra Miller and the absolutely superbly charismatic Colin Farrell, who is assigned the secondary role of the villain here. (I would like to mention another famous surname, but being afraid of spoilers, I won’t be better), however, something was still not enough.

Either because the Harry Potter franchise, too independent and rich in its legacy, has exhausted itself, or because we just grew up and began to look differently at magic, “Fantastic Beasts”, of course, are by no means a failure. but you don’t feel the same feeling at home, the long-awaited return to Hogwarts.

Of course, the film is worthy of being visited, however it is better not to lay great hopes on it, otherwise the feeling of sadness will not leave soon.
