When writing a story:
always keep the given sentence in mind and plan your
story around it. Do not change the given sentence.
• use past tenses (Past Simple, Past Progressive, Past
Perfect).
• use linking words/phrases to indicate the sequence of
events (see activity B).
• use Direct Speech, to make a situation seem real.
• use questions or exclamation marks, to make the story
more exciting
• use expressions/phrases like:
I couldn't believe my eyes/ears!
(Un)Luckily..
(Un)Fortunately...
All of a sudden/Suddenly...
To my surprise...
I was in luck/shock.
It was a real shock.
