The vines flowered and produced huge, orange and green pumpkins. At harvest time, the wolf showed up and demanded his share. He took the roots of the vines while the goat took the pumpkins. The wolf left in an angry mood. The next day on the way to the market the goat met the wolf. Wolf: Where are you going Goat? Goat: To the market to sell pumpkins. Wolf: How much are you going to sell them for? Goat: 2000 tenge each. Wolf: You fooled me again! Next time, you must give me both the top and bottom parts of the plants! You will take the middle! He said this thinking that he would keep everything for himself during the next harvest. However, the goat created an ingenious plan. In the next planting season he grew maize. As before the wolf came to take his portion of the harvest. He was surprised to receive the flowers and the roots of the maze plant while the goat took the cobs. The wolf was upset and said, Wolf: I will never give my land to you! You are a cheat! Go away! The goat left and sold the maize. He used all the money from the three planting seasons to buy a piece of land where he continued farming. What did the goat grow the next planting season?
