When Pi is 16, his family decides to close the zoo and move to Canada. They sell some of the animals to zoos in North America and the family takes the animals with them on a ship to Canada. On the way, there is a terrible storm and the ship sinks. Pi finds himself in a lifeboat with a hyena, zebra, orangutan and a tiger. When he sees the animals, Pi is scared and he jumps into the ocean. Then he remembers there are sharks in the ocean and he climbs back into the lifeboat. Pi and the tiger spend 227 days in the lifeboat. They live through terrible storms and are burnt by the Pacific sun. They are often hungry and ill. Sometimes, Pi is happy and hopeful, but sometimes he feels sad and lonely. Finally, they arrive at the coast of Mexico, but you will have to read the book to find out what happens in the end! Iwent to the 1) greengrocer's to get some apples then i got a book of stamps in the 2) post office. then it was off to the 3) stationer's to get more photocopy paper and some new pens. the 4) butcher's was closed so i couldn't get any meat. i thought we get a chinese meal from the 5) take away tonight. now, i promised the children a cake after dinner so if you're going out could you go to the 6) baker's and get some. see if you can get a loaf of bread while you're there too. oh yes, and could you pop into thе 7) newsagent's and get my homes and garden magazine and today's paper. we also need more shampoo so can you remember to get some in the 8) chemist's.
