The City of Festivals
Bourgas is the second largest city on the sunny Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. It is famous for the many festivals that are held there throughout the year. Every summer, The Seaside Park’s open air theatre hosts the Bulgarian Popular Song Festival, which is also known as ‘Bourgas and the Sea. The International Folklore Festival is also held in Bourgas in the summer. Since 2008, ‘The Spirit of Bourgas’, a brand new annual festival has also joined the list of events held in the city. This festival has become so successful that it now ranks as one of the top twenty European festivals.
The Spirit of Bourgas Festival features six stages where both Bulgarian and International artists perform different kinds of music. The event is held in August and lasts three days. There is a campsite within the festival grounds where visitors can stay if they don’t want to stay at a hotel.
International visitors are attracted to the stunning scenery and beautiful, sandy beaches of Bourgas. The festival is certainly expected to grow in popularity over the coming years. So, if you would like to make the trip to Bourgas to attend this or any of the other festivals, you are certain to enjoy yourself and have an unforgettable experience.
