2. Text 1: 15-year-old Jack Stamford runs in the woods with a special gun, mask and gloves. Suddenly, orange paint hits him. No, he isn’t in an action movie. He’s a tournament paintballer!
So, what’s paintballing exactly? Well, every week, Jack travels to a big field, building or wood and takes part in a fantasy game.
One week he’s a spy, the next he’s a ‘Tomb Raider’ adventurer. His team thinks of a plan, then they try to shoot their enemy with big balls of paint. Jack hides behind props but rarely stays still. Sometimes, the games last two hours, sometimes two days! Jack loves his hobby. But how often does a paintball hit him?
“A lot,” he says. “It hurts ... but I forget it quickly!”

Text 2: Many teens play video games to relax in their free time, but for 14-year-old Alex Jacobs ‘gaming’ is a serious hobby! What’s serious about it, then?
Well, Alex competes with gamers all over the world in online tournaments. Fans also watch him play online. He has got hundreds of followers on YouTube! His favourite game is Call of Duty.
“Some people say to me, ‘Why do you waste your life on video games?’”Alex says.
Fortunately, his friends and family support him. They often travel to watch him play in tournaments. So how often does Alex get out and do other things?
“Well, I go out with my friends and play in my school basketball team,” he says “so I haven’t got square eyes!”
