Правостороннее движение. вилки электроприборов с тремя плоскими контактами. два крана, где холодная и горячая вода не перемешивается. финансовый год, начинающийся 6 апреля, в отличии в от всего остального мира. в течение десятилетий британское правительство пытается приучить население в метрической системе, но до сих пор покупатели в магазинах просят отвесить товар в фунтах, расстояние и скорость измеряют в милях, а объем жидкости – в галлонах и пинтах. даже для обозначения времени используется два варианта – общемировой 24-часовой формат и более привычный британцам – 12- этот список британских странностей можно продолжать бесконечно. стереотип, сложившийся во всем мире, рисует британца, как одевающегося в немыслимо формальную одежду, питающегося безвкусной едой, занимающегося скучными и неторопливыми спорта и имеющего специфическое чувство юмора, непонятное для иностранцев. а также как человека консервативного, сдержанного и холодного. и в самом деле, британцы не самые открытые и спонтанные люди
