епітет – це яскраве образне визначення, наприклад: золота осінь, синє море, білосніжна зима, оксамитова шкіра, кришталевий дзвін.

приклади використання порівняння:

просте порівняння: швидкий як блискавка, легкий немов пух;

безсполучникове порівняння: будинок – повна чаша, язик твій – ворог твій;

негативне порівняння: не мишеня, не жаба, а невідома тваринка;

порівняння через орудний відмінок: вершник летить птахом;

порівняння через прислівник: з вовками жити – по-вовчому вити;

порівняння через родовий відмінок: мчати зі швидкістю вітру;

приклад персоніфікації в літературі:
