The united kingdom of great britain and north ireland is situated on the british islands and consists of four parts: england wales scotland and northern ireland. the country has the population of 60 million people. the isles are washed by the atlantic ocean in the north and in the west by the english channel.there are many beautiful lakes,rivers and mountains in great britain.the capital of great britain is london. it stands on the thames river.the largest cities are london,birmingham,leeds and glasgow.i hope to visit it one day.
