Rosa rymbaeva was born at zhangiztobe station in semipalatinsk region in a railway worker's family. she graduated from the music and drama comedy department of the theatre and art institute in alma-ata. in 1976-1979 she was the soloist of the republican youth pop group "gulder", from 1979 - soloist of the variety ensemble "arai", whose director and artistic director was her husband taskyn okapi. she reached the peak of her fame in 1977-1979, when she was a finalist of the "song of the year" festival and ranked among the ten best ussr singers in the hit parade "soundtrack" (1978 - 3rd place, directly following alla pugacheva and sofia rotaru) [1]. from 1979 to the present day - the soloist of the "kazakhconcert" national concert association. at the same time, since 1995, she has been a teacher of the kazakh academy of arts named after t.zhurgenov. she lives in alma-ata.
